Can't stand the heat? Legislate the Kitchen!

Earlier this week Senator Inhofe, Barbara Boxer's daily sparring partner in the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, told the press a conversation he recalled his nemesis Boxer having with Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton about shutting down, or at least curtailing conservative radio. Evidently, Sens. Boxer and Clinton were outraged at the fact that conservative radio does so well and liberal outfits such as Air America had failed so miserably, and now they were ready to legislate something about it. Both Senators vehemently denied the conversation ever occurred, however, this week Senators Durbin and Kerry have called for a "fairness doctrine" to be implemented, to create national legislation that would make it law to have liberal talk show hosts injected into conservative programs to provide "balance." Conservatives object not only to the intrusion of their workplace, but also to the fact that this alter in programming could affect ratings, and as a result, revenue. If this conundrum doesn't just absolutely scream to high Heaven what is wrong with Democrats today, I cannot begin to explain to you how completely un-American this entire situation is. JUST IN CASE, lets review.

Talk radio is a private enterprise, anybody is welcome to start their own program whenever they'd like. Just like any other broadcast, a program is developed, and based on its profitability, sponsors submit their advertisements to attract customers. If a show is unpopular to the unseen masses and does not garner ratings, aforementioned sponsors pull their ads, and the show dies. This is very very simple supply and demand logic. The United States of America was founded on this, the promise of free enterprise-you're free to try, and you're free to fail-its what has made it the most successful country in the history of mankind to date. The long and short of it, the people decide. They decide with their votes, and they decide with their wallets. Republicans, conservatives, right wingers, whatever, have absolutely no control over this technique, its the society we live in. Conservative talk radio has been immensely popular for decades now, and enjoys unprecedented success over the airwaves. Air America, with hosts like Al Franken, Jeneane Garofalo, and Randi Rhodes failed to attract listeners, and subsequently sponsors, and is now as a result, bankrupt.

So, why is legislation in this area needed? No laws have been broken, no injustices committed, the only possible answer left is that maybe, Democrats....don't.....quite.....believe in a free market? Can that be true? Just to be sure, lets look ahead to other potential causes.

The Democratic Party and indeed, all liberals, say they are vociferously dedicated to the defense of civil liberties and equal rights, and after all free speech is their hallmark sovereignty, so, they couldn't possibly want to curtail that would they? Well....we should keep moving on to see if there are any other rationales.

What if Democratic leaders are trying to impose their more "enlightened" ideas to the airwaves across America, more or less forcing people to hear their sides, because, after all, they know better than most of us.

The sad part is, all of that is true. Present day Democrats have never fully believed in a free market system, and their voting record to increase federal taxes to fund socialist pet projects over the past half century speaks loud and clear. Secondly, any current Democratic member of Congress who says he or she is truly interested in the fairness of the media waves is nothing less than a completely shameless hypocrite. I haven't heard for one Democrat calling for a "fairness doctrine" calling for journalists to devote an equal amount of time and money to Republican and Democratic causes, despite the fact a report was issued last week that the margin is now 9 to 1 in favor of Democrats. I certainly can't recall the last time a representative from either party wanted to introduce legislation requiring the size of protests and gatherings to be an equal size of that to a counter demonstration. Present Day liberals and Democrats alike, despite their "enlightened" views can't get people to listen to them because people who listen to daytime radio don't want to! This is exactly why Democrats have been labeled Kriplekistanis by this fledgling watchdawg (sic em!). They behave as if they have no dedication or belief in the very free market system they swore on a Bible to protect upon entering office.

Oh, and as a little side note, the man who made national headlines last week after trying to sue the mom and pop dry cleaners down the street here in Capitol City for 54 million after misplacing his pants-yeah, he's an ardent Democrat.

In the end, this is all about competition, and its not as if liberals haven't done well in the realm of competition. Ted Turner, who once divorced liberal poster child Jane Fonda of all people because she was a CHRISTIAN, heaven forbid (and pardon the pun) started his own bevy of television channels, and CNN which has a slightly liberal bias was for the better part of 2 decades THE news channel. Well, its a land of Free Markets, free markets for business, and free markets for ideas. So on came along Fox News with a conservative slant, and it now pummels liberal outfits like CNN and MSNBC on a combined basis daily. The one rule, and only rule of capitalism is simple, give the people what they want. The Democratic Party of America, should it continue on this baffling path of attempting to drum out the sounds of opposition, will soon find itself labeled illegitimate not only by the radicals of the right, but by the whole of America. Chipping away at the very foundations and freedoms that so many generations have died for in the past to score points in the political arena will never succeed, and the people have proven that. There are indeed two America's that exist at the moment, The United States of America, and the United Socialists of America, lets continue to bet on the States.

Deep State Blues

Late Monday evening, Deputy Director of the FBI Andrew McCabe announced he was leaving his position effective immediately, somewhat earlier than he had initially disclosed, as he was scheduled to leave sometime mid March. Although somewhat of a surprise, McCabe's departure from the FBI means different things to different people.  Democrats and proponents of the Russia collusion story are taking this as a sign that DJT has his new FBI director Christopher Wray are forcing McCabe out. However big of a stink the opposition can make, a President is within his legal right to put in his team into the Department of Justice, regardless the importance of the position, as it is part of the Executive branch.  That being said, it is important to note McCabe is not being fired, he is resigning from his post.  What makes this newsworthy is the timing.  Hours after McCabe announced he was leaving, the House Intelligence Committee voted along party lines to release an internal ...

Biggest Drain on the Species (3rd Edition)

BDOTS is here ladies and gentlemen! Just to refresh anyone's memory who may have forgot exactly how BDOTS (Biggest Drain on the Species) works, the award is given to an individual who's actions/comments are so blatantly hypocritical and self serving, this person is no longer just a detriment to the overall societal fabric, but an obstruction to the advancement of all human kind, and do I have a good one for you today. So good, in fact, that I am going to write to our candidate directly in hopes he may yet read this. Howard Dean, you have been a great sound bite ever since the 2004 presidential campaign. After your colossal campaign collapse, the Democratic National Party liked what it saw in your "grass roots" style, in which you employed eager volunteers with some new invention called the internet, resulting in a fairly effective money raising machine, and gave you the nod as the new DNC leader. Evidently, the DNC must have also liked the complete ineffectiveness...

Speaking of the Louse (Part 2)

This story just keeps getting better and better. Dec. 12, 2007: "On one occasion, in the fall of 2002, I was briefed on interrogation techniques the administration was considering using in the future. The administration advised that legal counsel for the both the CIA and the Department of Justice had concluded that the techniques were legal. I had no further briefings on the techniques...Jane Harman was briefed more extensively and advised the techniques had in fact been employed." Feb. 25, 2009: "No. No the fact is, they did not brief, well first of all, we're not allowed to talk about what happens there, but I can say they did not brief us with these enhanced interrogations that were taking place. They did not brief us. They were talking about an array of interrogations taht they might have at their disposal. But I can say flat out, they never told us that these enhacement interrogations were being used." April 23, 2009: "It is not appropriate f...
