For those living in the greater D.C. area, you know that a debate has been taking place lately, mostly unheard of due to immigration and Iraq, over whether or not to repeal the ban on hand guns in the Capitol City. Both sides have strong arguments, with gun control proponents saying they don't want to see an influx of crime related violence, and coming from a city that twice elected a crack smoker, I can't say I blame them. Pro gun advocates argue that criminals are just that, criminals, and thus will inherently break the law and find a way to get their hands on weapons. And then there's the third group, which I will not associate with gun control proponents, the outside liberal groups which would just like to see an overall abolition of most gun ownership in America. America as a country has always rooted for the little guy. Its in our blood. The very foundation of our history is shrouded in the idea that an underdog, a darkhorse can not only win, but win against all odds. Now I know I mentioned that leftist Hollywood actors and actresses would be scrutinized for their politics, but as far as today is concerned, lets stick to shenanigans only. There's almost always a steady stream of celebrity gossip/news coming out of the media, but there have been a recent few that have upped the ante so to speak. So before I begin writing about the first Republican debate, I need to apologize for not writing as promptly as possible, but the combination of Derby Day and Fight Night extended my leave of absence (more on that later). That said, let us begin. First of all, the debate was little more than a collection of sound bites, mostly because there were 10 men on the stage and its usually hard to have an honest open debate between two politicians, let alone 5 times that many. Regardless, there were those that stood out, and those that stood out for less than positive reasons, and those whose identity we were left pondering. We'll break them into 3 categories: A) You've got a shot, B) Good try but, and C) You just wore makeup for no reason. All are middle aged white men with families (don't look so shocked).
