Deep State Blues

Late Monday evening, Deputy Director of the FBI Andrew McCabe announced he was leaving his position effective immediately, somewhat earlier than he had initially disclosed, as he was scheduled to leave sometime mid March. Although somewhat of a surprise, McCabe's departure from the FBI means different things to different people.  Democrats and proponents of the Russia collusion story are taking this as a sign that DJT has his new FBI director Christopher Wray are forcing McCabe out. However big of a stink the opposition can make, a President is within his legal right to put in his team into the Department of Justice, regardless the importance of the position, as it is part of the Executive branch.  That being said, it is important to note McCabe is not being fired, he is resigning from his post.  What makes this newsworthy is the timing.  Hours after McCabe announced he was leaving, the House Intelligence Committee voted along party lines to release an internal ...

Virtual Reality

Cognitive dissonance is often regarded as the condition associated with the mind not being able to reconcile what it perceives vs what is real.  As previously mentioned on this blog, we believe the Russian collusion story is at best, a story.  Donald Trump is know for being many different things to different people, but to committed leftists he is something else entirely.  In order to explore what can only be described as their toxic blend of fascination and loathing, a quick overview. For much of his adult life, Donald Trump has been all over the political map.  Once as a guest on Oprah's daytime talk show in the late 80's, he gave kudos to the campaigns of Bush, Dukakis and Jackson during the 1988 campaign.  His political affiliations have ranged across the political spectrum.  In the first decade of the new millenium, he was a Democrat.  During the years of Obama, he flipped back to Republican, engaging in the birther issue among other criticisms ...

Trump 2.0

Once again loyal readers and visitors, apologies for the delays in between posts. Recent events have happened that will allow me to write more frequently, and hopefully it stays that way for the foreseeable future. It has been exactly 366 days since Donald Trump was inaugurated as 45th President of the United States, and to say some topics need to be covered would be an understatement. In order to catch up, lets review in terms of consistent coverage in the media and its implications. 1. Russian collusion. This story at this point is still merely that, a story. Michael Flynn has been dismissed by the Trump administration for failing to disclose certain activities he had with foreign governments, namely the government of Turkey. Paul Manafort has also been indicted and is out on restricted travel conditions. Both men have been indicted by Robert Mueller and the special counsel investigation for certain financial crimes, however that situation has been relatively quiet l...

Pride and Prejudice

So this may be Kriplekistan's most controversial blog to date, as it involves using clips from people's (who I don't know) social accounts without permission. This person's name and identity are concealed for ethical / potentially legal purposes, however it still feels risque, so here goes. As can be seen from previous posts regarding the Trump election, I have lamented the left's obsession with race, and inaccurate insistence that their loss had to do with racial animus from "average" white Americans. Nevermind the fact that Trump won counties that twice voted for Obama, but that's another topic. I also pointed out, I believe rightly so, that the true animus lies with the left. We will begin with exhibit A below. This person is lamenting the National Policy Institute's meeting this week in Washington D.C. Attendance was roughly 250 people. This is her post decrying the group, which she has every right to, as it does indeed engage in rhet...

Tri-Trump-halism

One week ago today, the national media of the United States, along with its DNC surrogates and supporters, were claiming they had a clear path to the Presidency, the Senate, potentially the House of Representatives, and that Trump would be the catalyst which would ignite a civil war within the Republican Party. As the country stands today, November 15th 2016, the current political landscape reads : Donald Trump shockingly won the presidency by eliminating the Democrat's self described firewall and winning the traditionally deep blue rust belt states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, and always pivotal Ohio, along with crucial toss ups North Carolina and Florida. 32 Governorships belong to the GOP, with 25 states controlling all houses of state level government. The GOP holds 52 Senate seats. This may seem fairly even, until the 2018 elections are examined, in which 10 Senate seats held by Democrats will be on the ballot. The GOP has 40 more seats than the Democrats in th...

The enemy of my enemy is my.....

So its an election year, and predictably, everyone is upset and in arms and losing friends on Facebook. This sort of thing happens when you discuss touchy topics in the vacuum of cyberspace. So is there really such a big difference between 2016 and 2012, or 2008, or 2004? Let's examine how GOP candidates were portrayed in those elections : 2004. Bush vs Kerry. I don't think anyone other than Tony Blair still defends the Iraq War, however George W was vilified as a blood thirsty (insert). Nazi, vampire, pick your historical villain. Bill Moyers said there would be a coup if he didn't win. I don't remember anyone lamenting the lack of belief in the democratic process when the left's version of William F Buckley felt a a hostile military takeover would dismantle our democracy. 2008. McCain vs Obama McCain was portrayed as yet again - a blood thirsty war monger because he had the foresight to say we needed to keep troops in Iraq to stabilize the situat...

Desperate times....

Hello all my former Kriplekistanis! Well, its too long to explain why I haven't posted in almost 5 years, but lets just say I've survived two recessions, an oil crash, and 8 years of Obama-nomics, so don't ever believe me gone. I'll be posting on the election shortly. Just wanted to post an update.
